Please download install SuperDAT Upgrader to upgrade to the latest scan engine and DAT file.

In order to ensure that only valid Illinois State University students and employees are downloading the software, you will first be asked to enter your ULID and password.
McAfee VirusScan 4.5.1 is available for download from the University Computer Help Desk.
Windows NT, 2000, XP, or Vista users should be running McAfee VirusScan 8.5i. This software works on desktops and servers and uses the same scan engine and DAT files as version 4.5.1.

Users wishing to install McAfee VirusScan 8.5i may download the file from the University Computer Help Desk. After downloading the file, double click it. When prompted to select the licensing term (EULA Screen), choose Perpetual.

DAT file updates can be set to regularly download from ISU's mirror at: ftp://ftp.ilstu.edu/pub/software/mcafee/datfiles/4.x/ . These files are also available from Network Associates: ftp://ftp.nai.com/commonupdater and http://download.nai.com/Products/CommonUpdater

Users wishing to install McAfee Virex 7.2 may download the file from the University Computer Help Desk. When Virex72.gz is decoded and unstuffed, a Virex 7.2 pkg will appear on your desktop. After downloading the file, double click the Virex 7.2 pkg.
Updates
Virex 7.2 defaults to getting updates from McAfee's site, but additional sites can be entered in to the Preferences section of the software.
